The Screening Room, the latest addition to the celebrated west London members’ club, The Roof Gardens in Kensington, reflects the Art Deco history and architecture of the grade II listed building.
Nice Projects has designed a cinema that is luxurious and comfortable, with generous seating, ranging from custom armchairs to daybeds. Warm, soft tones create an inviting yet intimate atmosphere with stainless steel and cast glass details adding sharpness. A fluted stainless steel bar, with a yellow onyx countertop, provides a focal point.
A warmly lit coffered ceiling, inspired by classic Hollywood glamour, draws the eye towards the front of the room where a metallic gold curtain with fringe conceals the screen and creates a dramatic reveal. Walls are lined with burnt orange fabric to enhance the acoustics and create a rich, cinematic feel.
