Holland House is an ode to gentle, elegant living, centred around family life. The interiors complement modernist architecture with contemporary design, to showcase an impressive contemporary art collection. Nice Projects worked closely with Andra Matin Architects and landscape designers This Humid House to create a relaxed and stylish family home.
The tropical villa sits on the edge of Singapore’s Green Corridor, with its pool and back garden facing lush secondary rainforest. The house is designed around the view of the landscape, to allow maximum natural ventilation and light. It features a range of spaces from small and intimate to large.
Each space has its own distinct identity but at the same time contributes to a coherent whole. There are quiet spaces for contemplation and work, and social spaces where the owners can welcome friends with traditional Asian hospitality.
The interior finishes are a mix of travertine and cork floors and bone-coloured clay rendered walls with patterned timber wall panels. The furniture is a mix of classics by Bo Bardi, Prouve, Scarpa, Noguchi, Perriand and contemporary pieces, Max Lamb , Philippe Malouin and Faye Toogood.
