This 1850s Victorian villa in Highgate, North London, has been sensitively updated to create a relaxed family home with a design that fuses traditional and contemporary elements. Designed for a young, busy family who wanted a ‘fun yet functional’ home for their three children to grow up in. The design contrasts the neutral tones of the architecture with striking moments of colour, such as petrol blue in the family room, dark forest green in the study and egg yolk yellow in the WC. Further contrast is provided by the strong sculptural shapes and forms of the furniture. Contemporary design sits happily alongside classic pieces.
